Perak flood situation improves as another relief centre closes

Flood victims in Perak drop to 202 people as recovery continues, with one more relief centre closed and only four still operating across two districts.

IPOH: The flood situation in Perak continues to improve, with the number of evacuees at relief centres (PPS) declining further.

As of this evening, only 202 victims from 62 families remain at four PPS across two districts.

This marks a significant decrease from the 411 victims from 122 families recorded this morning.

The Bagan Datuk Youth and Sports Community Hall PPS, which housed 142 victims from 45 families, was closed at 4 pm today.

Only four PPS are now operating in the state, with two each in Hilir Perak and Manjung districts.

In Hilir Perak, evacuees are sheltering at the Kampung Padang Tembak Multipurpose Hall and the Hilir Perak IPD Multipurpose Hall.

In Manjung, the operating centres are at Sekolah Rendah Agama Rakyat Padang Serai and SK Kayan in Lekir.
