TAWAU: Approximately 10,000 personnel from the Royal Malaysia Police will be deployed throughout the 17th Sabah state election to ensure security and process integrity.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail confirmed that additional resources from the Sarawak Police Contingent would be mobilised if required during the election period.
He announced a directive freezing all police leave except for specifically approved cases evaluated individually.
The minister received a comprehensive briefing from Sabah police commissioner Datuk Jauteh Dikun regarding police force readiness for the electoral process.
This preparation includes specialised training focused on ballot box security management and remote area monitoring.
