BN pledges to champion Sabah people’s interests in state election

Barisan Nasional commits to fighting for Sabah’s people, focusing on stability and development ahead of the 17th state election

KOTA KINABALU: Barisan Nasional will continue championing the interests of Sabah’s people to maintain stability and development in the state and country.

BN Secretary-General Datuk Seri Zambry Abd Kadir said this principle remains central to the coalition’s struggle ahead of the 17th Sabah State Election.

“We will continue the tradition of fighting for the people’s interests because the most important thing for every state and country is stability, which must be preserved and defended,” he stated.

Zambry spoke after the BN Supreme Council Meeting at the Sabah UMNO State Headquarters chaired by BN Chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

The meeting discussed final preparations for the state election including cooperation with Pakatan Harapan and finalised seat distribution.

BN will launch its Sabah election machinery tomorrow at 2.30 pm at a local hotel as a symbol of readiness for the campaign phase.

The central BN leadership has entrusted the Sabah BN leadership with announcing election candidates.

“We leave it to the leadership in Sabah because they have the autonomy to announce the names of the candidates,” Zambry explained.

Sabah UMNO chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin will announce the party’s candidates at noon tomorrow according to a media invitation from UMNO. – Bernama
