Bersatu Srikandi chief says she will step down from Perikatan Nasional roles if the PN Supreme Council makes a collective decision.
MELAKA: Bersatu Srikandi chief Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin says she is prepared to resign from her Perikatan Nasional posts if it is a collective decision.
The Melaka PN chairman clarified that claims of state chairman appointments being automatically void after Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s resignation were inaccurate.
Mas Ermieyati, who is also Masjid Tanah MP, explained that all central and state-level appointments were made by the PN Supreme Council.

“I take note of the calls from certain quarters urging me to resign as Melaka PN chairman and PN women’s chief,” she said in a statement.
She stressed her decision not to resign immediately was not for personal gain or to retain power.
“It is based on considerations of responsibility, organisational stability and the interests of the PN struggle at the state level,” she added.
Muhyiddin announced his resignation as PN chairman yesterday, effective 1 January 2026.
His resignation was followed by several other PN leaders stepping down from state chairman roles.
Those resigning included Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali as Selangor PN chairman and PN secretary-general.
Also resigning were Datuk Dr Sahruddin Jamal as Johor PN chairman and Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu as Perak PN chairman.
Mohamad Hanifah Abu Baker also resigned as Negeri Sembilan PN chairman. – Bernama
