MetMalaysia warns of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Sabah and Kuala Lumpur until 9 pm.
KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a severe weather warning for thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds.
The alert is in effect for several areas across four states and the federal territory of Kuala Lumpur until 9 pm tonight.
In Selangor, the warning covers the districts of Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Gombak and Hulu Langat.
Affected areas in Negeri Sembilan include Jelebu, Seremban, Kuala Pilah, Rembau and Tampin.
The entire state of Melaka is also forecast to experience the adverse weather conditions.
In Sabah, the warning applies to Tawau and the Sandakan divisions, specifically Tongod, Telupid and Kinabatangan.
MetMalaysia issued the statement today advising residents in the listed areas to remain cautious.
