US President Donald Trump says NATO would be “more formidable” with Greenland under US control, calling anything less “unacceptable”.
WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump has reiterated his demand for American control of Greenland, stating it is vital for national security.
“The United States needs Greenland for the purpose of National Security,” Trump wrote in a social media post.
He argued that the NATO alliance would be strengthened significantly if the territory was under US authority.

“NATO becomes far more formidable and effective with Greenland in the hands of the UNITED STATES.”
Trump added that “anything less than that is unacceptable,” linking the demand to a “Golden Dome” project.
The Danish and Greenlandic foreign ministers are scheduled to meet US Vice President JD Vance at the White House later on Wednesday.
This meeting follows weeks of public threats from Trump regarding the Arctic territory. – Reuters
