PARKING rates these days are not cheap in Malaysia no matter the area, burning a hole in our pockets whether we like it or not.
A man who visited Pulau Pangkor recently had to fork out a pretty penny or rather bank notes, in this case, for his parking fee at a jetty complex.
Perak Press shared the man’s exorbitant parking bill on Facebook, stating that the bill came up to RM46 for less than 48 hours of using the parking space.
“The parking fee for Dec 26 at 5.38pm until Dec 27 2023 at 6.08pm came up to RM46. Even Genting does not charge like this for parking.
“This is the last time I come back here – at Marina Island,” the disgruntled man said.
Netizens suggested that the man park in Lumut and take the ferry as an alternative to Pangkor Island as it has cheaper rates and others mentioned that they avoid parking at Marina Island due to the steep parking rates.
“I parked in Lumut for three days and two nights. The fees only came up to over RM30,” a netizen commented.
