Thailand sends two mln baht aid to war-torn Ukraine

BANGKOK: Thailand delivered humanitarian aid of 2 million baht (100 baht = RM13.37) for the Ukrainian people affected by the ongoing war.

Foreign Ministry said the Thai Red Cross Society allocated the 4th batch of humanitarian assistance to the Ukrainian Red Cross Society to procure the necessary items for the Ukrainian people.

Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Sarun Charoensuwan presented the contribution to Assistant Secretary-General for External Relations of the Thai Red Cross Society, Dr. Apichart Chinwanno. Chargé d’Affaires from the Embassy of Ukraine Pavlo Orel was also in attendance.

Foreign Ministry said Thailand has consistently extended humanitarian aid to Ukraine through various channels, including UNICEF, Thai Red Cross Society, and Polish Red Cross Society, with a total of 22.5 million baht (US$ 640,000).

“Thailand remains committed to contributing humanitarian assistance to those affected people,” it said. –Bernama
