Police arrest a 38-year-old Chinese man in Senai for allegedly installing Jalur Gemilang upside down, with the case investigated under multiple acts.

SENAI: Police have detained a Chinese national for allegedly installing the Jalur Gemilang upside down at a premises in Senai Airport City.

Johor Police Chief Datuk Ab Rahaman Arsad said the 38-year-old man was arrested at approximately 4pm yesterday.

He said the suspect had no prior criminal record and his preliminary urine screening test was negative.

One Malaysian flag was seized during the operation.

The case is being investigated under Section 5 of the Emblems and Names Act 1963 and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955.

It is also being probed under Regulation 39(B) of the Immigration Regulations 1959/1963.

The man has been remanded for three days starting today.

Ab Rahaman advised the public not to speculate or spread provocative statements on social media.

The arrest followed a 16-second viral video showing a factory in Senai flying the national flag upside down.
