Ministers Ramanan and Gobind Singh extend Pongal greetings, emphasising the festival’s themes of gratitude, prosperity, and national unity in Malaysia’s diverse society.
KUALA LUMPUR: Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan has extended his greetings for the Pongal festival, which will be observed tomorrow.
In a Facebook post, he said the celebration offers an opportunity to strengthen unity in diversity and foster closer ties among all communities.
He reaffirmed his commitment to prioritising public well-being and harmony in line with the Malaysia MADANI vision.
“Pongal symbolises gratitude and prosperity, reflecting appreciation for the fruits of labour and blessings bestowed by God,” he said.
Quoting a Tamil proverb, he called on all to move forward with hope and confidence towards a better future.
Meanwhile, Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo also extended Pongal greetings in a post on X.
He said the festival serves as a reminder to give thanks for blessings and prosperity in the days ahead.
“May this year’s Pongal bring lasting well-being, abundant happiness and better health to all,” he said.
Pongal is a Tamil harvest and thanksgiving festival celebrated to express gratitude for bountiful agricultural produce.
