MRT Putrajaya Line requires extensive repairs after cable theft

MRT Putrajaya Line faces ongoing disruption with manual train operations after suspected fibre optic cable theft requires extensive repairs.

KUALA LUMPUR: Repair work on the Mass Rapid Transit Putrajaya Line signalling system continues following yesterday’s service disruption.

Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd confirmed a technical investigation revealed multiple fibre optic cables were cut and stolen.

Extensive repairs are necessary to restore stable and safe operations across the line.

Trains now operate manually between Kwasa Damansara Station and Putrajaya Sentral Station.

This manual operation results in slower speeds and extended station stops.

Passengers should expect train frequencies of 20 to 30 minutes during this period.

A complimentary shuttle bus service runs between Kwasa Damansara and Putrajaya Sentral stations.

Shuttle buses operate every 15 to 20 minutes depending on traffic conditions.

Commuters needing assistance should approach station staff or auxiliary police officers.

Rapid Rail advises checking Rapid KL social media and the PULSE app for live updates.

Passengers should plan journeys carefully and consider alternative transport options.

The company apologised for inconvenience and thanked commuters for their patience. – Bernama
