M’sian man’s 10-hour daily motor commute Perlis-KL goes viral

Man commutes 10 hours daily on a motorcycle from Perlis to KL for work, sparking disbelief online

A Malaysian man’s extraordinary daily routine has gone viral after he revealed that he spends nearly 10 hours commuting between Perlis and Kuala Lumpur on his motorcycle just to earn a living.

The man, who goes by the handle @bayhaki.sd on Threads, shared that he leaves his home in Perlis at 4am every morning, makes a stop at the Tapah R&R around 6.45am for Subuh prayers and arrives in Kuala Lumpur by 9am to start work.

“Is it normal to work in KL but travel back and forth to Perlis every day? Riding a modified Honda EX5 Dream.

“Seeking advice from the experienced ones who work in KL,” he wrote.

After finishing work at 4pm, he immediately rides back north, reaching Perlis again around 9pm — meaning he spends nearly half his day on the road.

The post quickly sparked discussions among netizens, with many responding with humor as they found his situation both amusing and unbelievable.

Some Malaysians shared that they, too, endure long commutes between states, while others suggested he consider alternative options.

“It’s normal. I just walk from Padang Besar to work in Ampang,” one user called seanshukor joked.

“Normal. I row from Port Klang to Penang every day,” renzorichardson echoed.
“It’s not normal, but there are people who do it hahaha — like my fiancé’s colleague, who lives in Tanjung Malim but commutes to Subang every day,” muammarmegat_ shared.
