Mohd Yazid Zakaria’s passing a great loss to local arts scene – PM Anwar

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim pays tribute to conductor Mohd Yazid Zakaria, praising his exceptional talent and dedication to Malaysian music.

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today described the passing of Istana Budaya traditional orchestra conductor Mohd Yazid Zakaria as a great loss to the local arts scene.

He said the late Mohd Yazid was not only a conductor of exceptional talent but also an artist of noble heart, whose music united hearts and enriched the nation’s soul.

In a Facebook post, the Prime Minister extended his condolences to the family of the late Mohd Yazid.

“Receiving the sad news of the passing of the late Mohd Yazid, conductor of the traditional orchestra and the one who led the performance at the recent ASEAN Gala Dinner,” he said in the post.

Anwar also paid tribute to the late Mohd Yazid for his remarkable contributions and lifelong dedication to elevating the prestige of Malaysia’s traditional music.

“His dedication will long be remembered and serve as an inspiration for future generations.

“I was informed that the late Mohd Yazid’s child will be getting married on Nov 1. May his family be granted fortitude and strength in facing this profound test,” he said.

The Prime Minister also prayed that the late Mohd Yazid’s soul be blessed and placed among the righteous. – Bernama
