Malaysia’s King Sultan Ibrahim visited Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior, witnessing a parade and inspecting a guard-of-honour with King Hamad.
MANAMA: His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, visited the Ministry of Interior of Bahrain today.
The Malaysian monarch was accompanied by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain.
They arrived at the Police Fort around 12.30 pm local time and were received by Bahrain’s Minister of Interior, Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.
The national anthems of both countries were played during the ceremony.
Their Majesties then witnessed a parade at the venue.
The monarchs rode in an open-top vehicle to inspect a guard-of-honour.
This was followed by a silent drill performance and a presentation by the Police Band.
Afterwards, they proceeded in a special buggy to King Hamad’s Office at the MOI for a brief meeting.
They later had lunch at the Officers’ Club.
Accompanying Sultan Ibrahim were Tunku Temenggong Johor Tunku Idris Iskandar Al-Haj, Tunku Panglima Johor Tunku Abdul Rahman Al-Haj and Tunku Putera Johor Tunku Abu Bakar Al-Haj.
Also present were Malaysia’s Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin and Comptroller of the Royal Household of Istana Negara Tan Sri Dr Azmi Rohani.
Malaysian Ambassador to Bahrain Datuk Shazryll Zahiran and Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Datuk Seri Amran Mohamed Zin were also in attendance.
Sultan Ibrahim arrived in Bahrain on Thursday after concluding a four-day state visit to Saudi Arabia.
This three-day state visit to Bahrain is his sixth such visit since ascending the throne.
His previous state visits included Singapore, China, Brunei, Russia and Saudi Arabia. – Bernama
