SJPP approves RM4.9 billion financing for over 6,000 MSMEs

Syarikat Jaminan Pembiayaan Perniagaan approved RM4.9 billion in financing for over 6,000 MSMEs in the first half of 2026, says PM Anwar.

KUALA LUMPUR: Syarikat Jaminan Pembiayaan Perniagaan (SJPP) had approved RM4.9 billion in financing for more than 6,000 micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the first half (1H) of 2026, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

SJPP is a wholly owned company of the Minister of Finance (Incorporated).

Anwar, who is also Finance Minister, said the approvals were part of the government’s efforts to improve MSMEs’ access to financing, besides easing business costs and support the sustainability of their operations.

The Prime Minister said this in reply to Lee Chuan How (PH-Ipoh Timor) during the Minister’s Question Time in the Dewan Rakyat today, on whether the MADANI government is aware of the challenges facing the business sector, particularly MSME entrepreneurs amid the current global environment, and the measures being taken to support the sustainability of MSMEs.

Anwar said the government has provided various loans and financing guarantees amounting to more than RM15 billion to support the working capital needs of MSMEs.

Of the total, RM5 billion has been specifically earmarked for Bumiputera businesses, he said.
