A total of 18 women coaches from across Malaysia have been selected for the Fifa Coaching Education Scholarship Programme to strengthen women’s football coaching development
KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 18 women coaches from across the country have been selected to participate in the FIFA Coaching Education Scholarship Programme, namely the AFC Women’s ‘B’ Diploma Coaching Course, in an effort to strengthen the development of women coaches in Malaysia.
The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM), in a post on its official Facebook page today, said the programme, conducted in collaboration with FIFA, aims to raise the standard of women’s football coaching in the country.
According to FAM, the scholarship programme provides participants with the opportunity to enhance their coaching knowledge, leadership skills and practical capabilities through comprehensive learning modules.
“The course will be conducted in two phases, namely the Practical Block from July 7 to 18, 2026, followed by the Theory Block from Sept 21 to Oct 2, 2026.
“As part of the learning experience, participants will also conduct match analysis throughout the 2026 ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Women’s Cup, which will begin this Friday,” it said in the post.
FAM said the programme is led by FAM Women’s Football Technical Director Soleen Al-Zoubi, while the coaching instructors comprise FAM Head of Coaching Education and Coach Educator Head Coach Lim Kim Chon, assisted by two Assistant Coach Educators, Iqbal Hanafi Masduki and Leila Chua.
Also contributing their expertise to the course are FAM High Performance Head Reuben Jude Balraj and Coach Educator Goalkeeper Lim Chuan Chin.
“Through the organisation of this programme, FAM hopes more women coaches will be empowered with the knowledge, experience and skills needed to continue contributing to the development of women’s football in the country at all levels,” FAM added.
