PPZ-MAIWP launches Year End Zakat 2025 campaign with rewards

PPZ-MAIWP encourages Muslims to fulfil zakat obligations by Dec 31 with special prizes, extended counter hours and multiple payment channels.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council Zakat Collection Centre (PPZ-MAIWP) has launched the Year End Zakat (YEZ) 2025 Campaign.

The initiative encourages Muslims in the Federal Territories to fulfil their zakat obligations by December 31.

PPZ-MAIWP chief executive officer Datuk Abdul Hakim Amir Osman said this year’s campaign carries the theme “Akhirnya Sempurna”.

“Various initiatives and rewards have been lined up to encourage greater public participation and to strengthen the relationship between PPZ-MAIWP and zakat payers,” he told reporters.

The campaign was officiated by MAIWP chairman Datuk Syed Kamarulzaman Syed Kabeer at AEON Mall AU2.

PPZ-MAIWP will open its counters daily throughout December for payer convenience.

Special activities include ‘Hari Bersama Pembayar’ every Friday and during the last 10 days of the month.

A Year End Zakat Tour will visit several high-traffic locations alongside live programmes and corporate talks.

More than 1,300 special prizes including umrah packages and holiday vouchers are available for campaign period payers.

Multiple payment channels are offered including physical counters, online portals, the MyZakat app and ‘Amil to You’ mobile service.

Abdul Hakim encouraged early payments to avoid counter congestion.

Campaign details are available at www.zakat.com.my or via hotline 1-300-88-5757.

PPZ-MAIWP acknowledged sponsors Klinik Anda 24 Jam, Top Global Food and Beverages and Ikhlas Com Travel & Umrah.

MAIWP has disbursed RM1.014 billion in zakat funds as of November.

These funds covered welfare, protection, education, healthcare, entrepreneurship and career development assistance.

An additional RM14.5 million was channelled through entrepreneur and development programmes.

These initiatives benefited 10,252 asnaf in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan. – Bernama
