Territorial Army praised as key defence pillar in Perlis floods

The Raja Muda of Perlis lauds Territorial Army volunteers as a crucial defence pillar for their swift and courageous response to recent state floods

PADANG BESAR: The efficiency of Territorial Army volunteers during recent floods proves they are a key pillar of Perlis’s defence, not merely a support unit.

The Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, praised the courage, discipline and high preparedness of the reserve force during the disaster.

He said he witnessed security personnel, public agencies, the private sector and citizens step forward to help without hesitation.

Tuanku Syed Faizuddin said this when officiating the Jiwa Murni programme for the 45th anniversary of the 504th Territorial Regiment at Gua Kelam Recreational Park.

He added that members possess physical strength, sharp minds, strong morals and unwavering loyalty, making them a trusted defence line.

“I am confident that as long as this spirit is preserved, Perlis will remain strong regardless of the challenges,” he said.

He emphasised the state’s true strength lies in the spirit and determination of its people, not just assets or infrastructure.

“As long as the people remain united, help one another and honour each other, this state will continue to stand firm,” he added.

Regarding the Jiwa Murni programme, he said it reflects strong synergy between government, security agencies, the private sector and the people.

This Whole of Government, Whole of Society approach creates extraordinary strength for a resilient Perlis, he stated. – Bernama
