DH Cebu FC earned their first point of the 2025/26 ASEAN Club Championship Shopee Cupâ„¢ after holding Group A leaders Selangor FC to a 1-1 draw at Rizal Memorial Stadium on Wednesday.
Rico Andes opened the scoring for the hosts two minutes into the second half before Willian Lira equalised seven minutes later. Selangor move to five points from three matches, while Cebu remain bottom despite the draw.
Selangor started strongly with early chances for Lira, Izwan Yuslan and Omid Musawi, but Cebu nearly struck on the counter when Kalamullah Al Hafiz denied Abdulfatohi Khudoidodzoda. Musawi later forced another save from Rami Jeridi as the visitors continued to probe.
Cebu grew into the game and threatened through Anderson Pinto before taking the lead in the 47th minute. Andes and Abou Sy challenged for Esrom Paulos’ corner, with Andes appearing to get the final touch as the ball bounced over the line.
Selangor hit back quickly, with Lira firing home from 12 yards to make it 1-1. The visitors pushed hard for a late winner, as Chrigor Moraes sent a long-range effort wide and Picha Autra struck the post with a scissor kick, but Cebu held firm to secure the draw.
