Penang FC moved off the bottom of the Super League after a 3-0 home victory against PDRM FC, with Dylan Wenzel-Halls scoring twice.
PENANG FC finally climbed off the bottom of the Super League standings with a 3-0 victory over PDRM FC at the City Stadium today.
The home side aggressively pursued their second win of the season, dominating the first half.
Australian striker Dylan Wenzel-Halls opened the scoring in the 23rd minute.
PDRM FC’s task became harder when Awad Salleh was sent off in the 30th minute for a foul.
Penang pressed their advantage after the break, with Muhammad Firdaus Saiyadi scoring in the 53rd minute.
Firdaus pounced on a loose ball after the PDRM goalkeeper blocked a shot from Wenzel-Halls.
Wenzel-Halls then secured his brace by converting a penalty later in the match.
The 3-0 result lifted Penang off the foot of the league table.
In another Super League match, Terengganu FC secured a narrow 3-2 win over Imigresen FC at the Batu Kawan Stadium.
The visitors took an early lead through Raianderson Da Costa Morais in the 10th minute.
Imigresen equalised seven minutes later via a goal from Joao Pedro Borira Duarte.
Terengganu FC dominated the second half and regained the lead through Raianderson’s close-range header in the 64th minute.
A Gabriel Silva Costa penalty in the 73rd minute put Terengganu firmly on course for victory.
Imigresen got a late consolation when Terengganu’s Muhammad Syafiq Danial Mohd Romzi scored an own goal in the 87th minute.
The match ended 3-2, securing three valuable points for Terengganu FC.
