KL City coach questions penalty call in draw with Kuching City

KL City coach Risto Vidakovic criticises a denied penalty after a 1-1 draw with Kuching City, saying it could have changed the match outcome.

KUALA Lumpur City FC head coach Risto Vidakovic criticised a key refereeing decision after his side was held to a 1-1 draw by Kuching City FC.

Vidakovic expressed disappointment that a penalty was not awarded for an incident in the second half.

“I saw it clearly on the video after the game,” he said.

“The player’s jersey was pulled from behind.”

He added that the foul was clear and could have altered the match’s outcome.

Despite the setback, the Croatian coach praised his team’s overall performance.

“We dominated the first half, played very well and missed many chances,” Vidakovic said.

He noted that his side created numerous opportunities and controlled large periods of the game.

Kuching City head coach Aidil Sharin Sahak described the draw as a fair result.

“Overall, I’m happy with the boys’ performance tonight and with the result,” he said.

Aidil Sharin highlighted that his team remains second in the league and avoided a loss.

“Over the past few matches, our only defeat came against Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT),” he added.
