Penang Gerakan raps CM over airport issue

08 Jul 2014 / 20:40 H.

GEORGE TOWN: Penang Gerakan has criticised chief minister Lim Guan Eng over what it claimed was his lackadaisical attitude in handling the airport issue.
Its secretary, Oh Tong Keong, said Lim seemed to be only interested in playing politics with such an important matter which concerned the future of Penang's development.
If Lim is serious about settling the issue, he would not have dragged on for about three weeks before writing a letter to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak asking for a RM600 million allocation for the proposed expansion of Penang International Airport (PIA), Oh said in a statement today.
"Disappointedly, the letter was not accompanied with any blueprint or supporting information by the DAP-led state government on how the airport would be expanded," he said. – Bernama
