Raub maintenance worker finds explosives inside store

RAUB: A Pahang Water Corporation maintenance worker chanced upon four boxes of explosives inside a concrete store near the water pump station at Bukit Kolam Air near here last night.
The worker who only wanted to be identified as 'Aziz' was carrying out cleaning works at the premises when he found the boxes containing 600 pieces of active dynamite, 1700 metres of wire, and detonators.
Surprised at the find, he said he was not aware of the store which was located next to another store on a hill as it was covered by grass.
He informed his supervisor about the discovery before lodging a police report at the Raub police headquarters at 11 pm last night.
State Pahang CID chief Datuk Zakaria Ahmad when contacted, confirmed receiving a report.
Meanwhile, police from the bomb disposal unit which conducted an inspection, believed the explosives had been left there for sometime. – Bernama
