DIANA Ross hopes her son, Evan Ross, and his new wife, Ashlee Simpson, have a lifetime of "love, happiness and joy" after their wedding last weekend.
The Motown legend, who officiated her son's wedding to the 'Pieces of Me' hitmaker at her home in Greenwich, Connecticut last Sunday, Aug 31, says the lavish event "went perfectly."
The 'Endless Love' hitmaker, who also performed the classic ballad at the non-denominational service, told Us Weekly magazine: "The wedding went perfectly. We had a beautiful rainbow surrounding us, loving family and friends, great music, and great speeches from loving and caring friends, and joyful children dancing the night away."
"I thank everyone who supported us on the spectacular day and our neighbors who were kind enough to let us have fun. We had great friends that traveled from Norway, London, Switzerland, and from all over the world. Wishing Evan and Ashlee congratulations," she added.
Sources previously claimed that there was tension between Ashlee, 29, and Diana, 70, ahead of her nuptials, but the legendary singer said: "I want only love, happiness, and joy for my son and his bride."
The blonde beauty, who started dating 'The Hunger Games' star Evan last year, was previously married to Fall Out Boy rocker Pete Wentz, with whom she has son Bronx, five. – Bang Media
