Lorry driver assaults student, fires gun after accident in Kuching

    KUCHING: A private university student here was assaulted while his sister had a gun pointed at her by a lorry driver after an accident at Jalan Foochow No.1, here today.
    The 19-year-old student was driving a car with his sister in the passenger seat when a lorry suddenly knocked the side mirror of the car.
    Both drivers came out of their vehicles to inspect the damage and the lorry driver suddenly punched the student and went on to drive the lorry into the car.
    The lorry driver allegedly came out of the vehicle with an air rifle and pointed the weapon at the student's sister before firing one shot in the air before fleeing the scene.
    A police spokesman said they have identified the 50-year-old suspect and the case was being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code and the Firearms Act 1971. – Bernama
