KUALA LUMPUR: Suzuki Malaysia Automobile Sdn Bhd expects the S-Cross model to contribute 10% to its sales in the next 12 months, said managing director, Keiichi Suzuki.
Suzuki said the company targets sales of 400 units for the next 12 months and hopes to sell 60 units of the new model by year-end.
He said the company was also on track to achieve 5,000-unit target sales for all Suzuki models in Malaysia by year-end.
"For the current market, it is not easy to foresee because of certain issues like Goods and Services Tax as well as other issues," he said after the launch yesterday.
Suzuki said although competition was getting tougher the company wanted to try and maintain the volume for this year.
"Sports utility vehicle market is a growing market, but as many as sedan or others. It is a good market and Suzuki has its own product," he said.
The new Suzuki S-Cross comes with a 1.6 litre M16A four-cylinder petrol engine and boasts a plethora of features such as a 7 inch touch-screen navigation system with MP3, USB, DVD, Bluetooth and rear-view camera.
Prices for the S-Cross start from RM129,888 for Peninsular Malaysia, RM133,888 for Sabah and RM134,888 for Sarawak on-the-road without insurance.
They come in a variety of colours such as Crystal Lime Metallic, Amethyst Gray Pearl Metallic, Cool White Pearl and Boost Blue Pearl Metallic. – Bernama
