A narrow escape for Chinese national

    PETALING JAYA: A 32-year-old Chinese national escaped death when his Maserati Quattroporte hit a road divider and the car burst into flames before plunging to the road below at the Sprint Highway, early morning today.
    District police chief ACP Azmi Abu Kassim said the victim was traveling from city centre to Bandar Utama at about 3.30am when the accident happened.
    Azmi said initial investigations revealed that the driver had lost control of his car and crashed into a side railing on an elevated portion of the highway.
    “The victim who suffered minor injuries on his hands managed to crawl out through the rear window," he added.
    Meanwhile, Selangor Fire and Rescue director Othman Abdullah said six fire fighters were deployed to the scene to put out the flames from the car.
    Othman said Fire and Rescue department received a distress call five minutes after the accident took place at the KM3.7 of the highway.
    “The car was completely destroyed in the blaze,” he added.
