Ringgit opens lower versus US dollar

KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit eased against the US dollar, in early trade this morning, on lack of buying support for the local unit, said a dealer.

At 9.07am, the local unit was lower at 3.6415/6445 against the greenback from 3.6360/5390 at 5pm on Wednesday.

The ringgit traded mostly higher against other major currencies.

It strengthened marginally the Singapore dollar to 2.6964/6990 from 2.6967/6008 on Wednesday and appreciated against the yen to 2.9431/9462 from 2.9542/9576 yesterday.

The local unit fell against the Euro to 3.9725/9769 versus Wednesday's 3.9701/0745 and rose against the British pound to 5.5893/5961 from 5.5998/6062 yesterday. – Bernama
