SUBANG: Plus Malaysia Berhad's highway emergency roadside assistance Workshop on Wheels (WOW) received a major boost today with a six-month supply of free fuel from Petron.
Dubbed as a win-win partnership for Plus highway users' safety and convenience, 28 WOW vehicles which comprise 16 vans, six motorbikes and six tow trucks, will get fuel supply at nine Petron stations on the 850km North-South Expressway, Butterworth-Kulim Expressway and Second Link.
Speaking after the Memorandum of Understanding signed between WOW and Petron Malaysia, Plus Malaysia Berhad chief operating officer Mohammad Fuad Khusairi said he was delighted with the initiative.
“This will assist tremendously for WOW to provide emergency assistance to our users. This will also halt the activities of unscrupulous and irresponsible unauthorised tow-truck operators,” he said.
Fuad said the WOW service was a collaboration between Plus and Automobile Association of Malaysia offering free assistance round the clock to highway users.
“It offers free towing service and minor servicing for breakdown and ample vehicle parts replacements at appropriate cost,” said Fuad.
Petron Malaysia retail sales manager Mohd Shaibi Ahmad Hijazi said the partnership was an extension of the oil company's initiative to make the roads safer and convenient for motorists.‎
“Under this partnership, customers with Petron Miles card requiring WOW’s services, will enjoy services without GST charge and also enjoy Petron’s engine oil Blaze Racing at a special price, offered on WOW vehicles during emergency situation,” said Mohd Shaibi.
He said such partnership augurs well of Petron’s road safety programme to ensure motorists arrived at their destinations.
“We are pleased to be the partner of WOW in providing roadside assistance along the highways on daily basis while our service stations will be ready to fuel WOW vehicles,” he added.‎
