KUALA LUMPUR: Police warned that the "Tangkap Najib" assembly, which is expected to be held by a movement known as Demi Malaysia in the city centre today, is illegal.
"The assembly is deemed illegal and police will take serious action against those who organise (the rally) and participate.
"Please do not get involved. We must keep the peace in the city," said KL deputy police chief Datuk Law Hong Soon.
Law added that police have also warned the public to not hold any event which can jeopardise the parliamentary democracy or disrupt the authorities from exercising their lawful power.
"So far, three arrests were made to be investigated under Section 124 for Assaulting Member of Parliament with intent to compel or restrain the exercise of any lawful power. Their remand order will be requested today," said Law.
He added that policemen will be deployed to ensure the public order and safety in the vicinity of the city centre.
Law also advised the public to not create and spread any rumours which can disturb the public order.
