KUALA LUMPUR: Police today dismissed rumours saying that former attorney-general Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail had been arrested.
Kuala Lumpur Police deputy chief Datuk Law Hong Soon said it was just a rumour.
"Do not make unhealthy assumptions and speculations ... they will lead to undesirable situations.
"If there is any truth to the matter, we (the police) will make an announcement," he told a press conference at the Dang Wangi District Police headquarters here.
Law responded to questions from reporters over talk that Gani was arrested this morning.
The service of Abdul Gani as the attorney-general was terminated last Monday for health reasons. Former Federal Court judge Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi Ali has been appointed as the new attorney-general. – Bernama
