Technician pleads not guilty to raping disabled daughter

SEREMBAN: A technician pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court here today to a charge of raping his 11 year-old disabled daughter.
The 37-year-old accused, was charged with committing the offence at their house in Taman Tuanku Jaafar, Senawang near here, between 2pm and 5pm last Aug 12.
He is charged under Section 376 (B) of the Penal Code, which carries a imprisonment for up to 30 years, or with fine, or with whipping, or with any two of the punishments, if found guilty.
Deputy public prosecutor Mohd Farid Mohd Mokhtar, who prosecuted, requested the accused to not be allowed bail as he was staying in the same house as the victim.
Judge Kamarudin Kamsun did not allow the accused bail and set Sept 30 for mention.
The accused was unrepresented. – Bernama
