Royal Floria Putrajaya is back

PUTRAJAYA: The Royal Floria Putrajaya 2016 flower festival is back for the ninth consecutive year and will be bigger than the previous ones.
Perbadanan Putrajaya president Datuk Seri Hasim Ismail said the festival, to be held from May 27 to June 4, would cover about 29 acres of space at the Anjung Floria in Precint 4 here.
"With the theme 'Magical World of Floria', visitors will undergo a magnificent experience through the Mystical Forest, Chrysanthemum Garden, Mermaid's World and Candy Courtyard during the event," he told a press conference on the event at Perbadanan Putrajaya's office here.
He added this year, they are expanding the area by another 14 acres, in hope of attracting a bigger crowd.
Floria 2016 will feature about 2,000 different species of flowers and trees, many of which are guaranteed to be new to visitors.
Participants from Australia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Germany, Korea, Malaysia, Spain, Singapore,Taiwan, Thailand and Europe will present their horticulture skills and landscaping ideas at the event.
Hasim said last year's festival attracted more than 750,000 tourists and Royal Floria Putrajaya 2016 is expected to see about a million visitors.
Tickets will be available online on March 1. They are RM7.50 for adults and RM3.50 for children (MyKad); RM22 for adults, RM11 childern (Non-Mykad) with an extra RM10.50 (adults), RM5.50 (children) for entrance to the Magical Gardens.
