Kelantan Umno Liaison to build 50 more permanent homes for flood victims

KOTA BARU: The Kelantan UMNO Liaison body has acquired 2.27 hectares of land costing RM420,550 in Manjor, Kuala Krai to build 50 more permanent homes for victims of the major flood in 2014.
Its chairman Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed (pix) said it was the last phase of the housing project planned by the Federal Government for flood victims in the area.
"The project, to commence at the end of October will be implemented by the Public Works Department. Each house will cost RM65,000," he said after chairing a Liaison meeting at Bangunan UMNO Kelantan here last night.
In June, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak handed over the house keys to new houses to 31 families affected by the flood in Kuala Krai.
The federal government had pledged to build 1,141 houses for flood victims, of which 800 have already been completed. — Bernama
