Giorgio Armani announces midweek show for Milan

06 Aug 2016 / 03:04 H.

THOUGH Giorgio Armani has traditionally closed out Milan Fashion Week with his show of his signature label, September 2016's event will instead have his wares debuting halfway through proceedings.
The upcoming Milan Fashion Week, for Spring/Summer 2017, runs September 21-26, but Armani has elected to hold his own show on Friday, September 23.
Gucci opens Milan Fashion Week 2016, with a selection of up and coming designers booked for the final day.
"Why should I be the only one to always close Fashion Week?" the celebrated Italian designer had said in June, WWD recalls. "There should be a turnover and I hope some of my colleagues will collaborate on this issue."
Meanwhile, it was earlier revealed that the house's Emporio Armani ready to wear line will show its upcoming Spring/Summer 2017 collection in the French capital rather than the usual Milan for just this season. — AFP Relaxnews
