Kota Belud youths prove capability in organising major events

KOTA BELUD: Youths in Kota Belud proved their ability in organising major events and inculcating solidarity among the local community with the successful organisation the Karnival Varia-C Belia Muhibbah.

The carnival, organised by the Persatuan Kelab BMY and Persatuan Gabungan Aspirasi Baru in collaboration with the Gabungan Persatuan Belia dan Beliawanis Zon Utara Kota Belud, received exceptional response from the local residents, especially the youths.

"We expected 5,000 people to attend, but the attendance had exceeded the figure," said the chairman of the organising committee of the carnival, Zamzuri Pandikar Amin when met at the dinner in conjunction the carnival, here last night.

Also present were Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia and Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Salleh Said Keruak.

The carnival, which was held from Sept 10 until last night, featured various activities including football matches, futsal, sepak takraw and a boat race besides cultural performances and a motor show.

A fun fair was also held during the carnival which concluded last night with a concert participated by local artistes and as well as invited artistes from Indonesia. — Bernama
