Body of man found in 'cruel killing' at Bandar Baru Permas Jaya

JOHOR BARU: A nude body of a man was found near a security guard house of a construction site in Bandar Baru Permas Jaya here on yesterday.
The deceased, identified as Jayashanti Moorthy, 22, who was only clad in a brief, was found inflicted with several slash wounds on his body, hands and legs.
Johor Baru Selatan (JBS) district police chief Assistant Commissioner Sulaiman Salleh who described the case as a "cruel killing" said the body was found about 10.48am by a member of the public.
He said Jayashanthi, a father of two children, was working as a security guard at a shopping mall prior to the killing.
Police investigations led to the arrest of four suspects aged between 20 and 26 years in Ayer Keroh, Malacca, and Johor Baru respectively yesterday.
"The arrest was made possible by public cooperation and information. We believe there are more suspects involved in the case," said Sulaiman.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of Penal Code for murder.
Police have yet to ascertain the motive behind the murder.
