Superheroes usher in the new school year

PETALING JAYA: What better way to beat first-day school blues than to have your superheroes beat them for you.
That was what year one pupils from three schools in Kelantan and Johor came to experience, when they were pleasantly surprised to see the likes of Batman and Ultraman at their school compound.
Sekolah Kebangsaan Kubang Kerian, Kelantan, had Batman and the White Kamen Rider Drive (both popular television characters) invited to their school as a way to ease anxiety among the students.
As if that was not cool enough, Sekolah Kebangsaan Sri Rengit in Batu Pahat had not one, but two Ultraman characters to welcome the students into the new school year.
The school, through its SK Sri Rengit Official Facebook page, even uploaded pictures of the two superheroes guarding the school gate as the students made their way in.
One user, Muhd Hafizal Sape, commented: "I wonder who are the ones behind the masks? Could it be the teachers? Very creative."
Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Scientex in Pasir Gudang, meanwhile, decided to go with loving Disney couple Mickey and Minnie Mouse to cheer the students attending school for the first time.
The popular Disney characters were seen in pictures uploaded by the school on its Facebook page waving to students as they entered the school compound.
Some of the students also did not miss out on the opportunity to strike a pose with the two cartoon characters.
The surprise visits also caught the internet by storm, with netizens sharing images of the characters mingling with the students on social media.
