KAJANG: Police have arrested four women yesterday in relation to the alleged child abuse case at a nursery in Bangi.
Kajang district police chief ACP Othman Nanyan said the first arrest was made at the nursery located in Bangi Baru here.
“Three caretakers, aged between 24 and 25, were arrested around 4.20pm.
The nursery manager, 46, was detained at 5pm at a separate area, also in Bangi Baru.
“All the children involved in the case have been sent to the hospital for examination and checks found that there were no physical injuries,” he said.
A picture, showing children whose feet, hands and mouths appear to be bound up, had gone viral on social media.
It was reported that Othman confirmed receiving a report on the case on Thursday.
The Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim said yesterday that the ministry is currently investigating the case and that they will be working very closely with the police on the case.
The case is being probed under Section 31(1) of the Child Act 2001.
