15 squatters lose home in Miri fire

MIRI: Fifteen people at a squatter colony in Kampung Pasir, Jalan Lutong here lost their homes in a fire at 10.30pm on Sunday night
Miri Fire and Rescue chief Law Poh Kong said the blaze destroyed five wooden houses but no casualties had been reported.
"There were occupants in three of the houses while two were empty," he said here today.
He said 12 personnel in one fire truck from Lopeng Fire and Rescue Station arrived at the location at 10.50pm and managed to put out the blaze by 11.41pm. — Bernama
