AN annual affair for A’Famosa Resort sees employees engaging in efforts to give back to the community. This year, a group of 12 volunteers representing various departments of the resort got together to indulge in corporate social responsibility efforts.
CORPORATE GIVING
In line with the Chinese NewYear celebrations, the benevolent dozen were seen visiting two old folks’ homes, a disadvantaged persons’ centre and a disabled and destitute family, to spread some festive cheer.
The team from the resort, mostly consisting of staff from the public relations and marketing communications departments, not only handed out ang pows and daily essentials to the individuals of the homes, they also engaged in sharing food and light moments with the elderly and challenged individuals.
SHARING FESTIVE CHEER
The party scene was merry especially with “lou sang” tossing and enjoying light snacks and drinks together. Cheery smiles and laughter were in the air especially when the “God of Fortune” came a calling and handed out red packets. Before the team fromA’Famosa took leave, they presented essential goods like cooking oil, rice, Milo and other items to representatives of the homes. Grateful were the recipients from:
* Pu Ai Handicapped & Mentally Disabled Children Love Centre, Kajang, Selangor;
* Zhu Lin Old Folks’ Home Rantau, Negri Sembilan;
*Wen Da Old Folks’ Home Seremban, Negri Sembilan; and
* home of a disabled family in Bandar Hilir, Malacca.
RESORT WITH A HEART
The resort spent some RM9,950 for the entire project, covering cash donations and ang pows, food and beverage, props and other items for the parties.
Said the resort’s PR and Marcomm manager Alice Lim, “We are committed to this cause and are pleased to be able to serve and help those in need”.
Contributions and aid in times of need are a regular practice with the people at A’Famosa Resort.
