KUALA LUMPUR: Genting Malaysia Bhd has denied any involvement in the Forest City casino discussions.

Genting Malaysia, in response to recent foreign media articles, said that the reports contained claims that the company and/or its deputy chairman and chief executive Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay had participated in discussions relating to the opening of a second casino in Johor.

In a statement today, Genting Malaysia said that neither the company nor Lim were involved in any such discussions or meetings, and the claims made are untrue.

Hence, the company urged that all parties to immediately cease the publication and dissemination of the misinformation, remove the untrue claims and provide the necessary clarification to the public to prevent further confusion.

The company added that it will not hesitate to take further action deemed necessary to protect its interests and its stakeholders.
