MCA: Kit Siang, Guan Eng responsible for empowering PAS

PETALING JAYA: MCA has called on DAP leaders Lim Kit Siang and Lim Guan Eng to accept the blame for empowering PAS.
MCA Publicity Bureau chairman Senator Datuk Chai Kim Sen said both the senior party leaders should be held accountable following the admission made by the four elected representatives who resigned from the party.
"The three DAP state assemblymen and one MP had confessed that they had campaigned for PAS in the last general election on DAP's orders.
"They regretted it and apologised for misleading the voters into believing that PAS had abandoned its goal of implementing a theocratic state, which would instead be replaced with a welfare state," Chai said in a statement today.
He said DAP's assistance had emboldened PAS, which in turn allowed the party to be more aggressive in widening its influence.
Chai also said that Guan Eng had coldly responded with a "let it pass" remark, when he was asked about the Private Member's Bill tabled by PAS on Act 355 in 2015.
"This shows that both father and son have not repented their past mistakes, and are willing to sacrifice the interests of the non-Muslim community for political gain.
"They should resign and apologise, every politician must keep a political bottom line, especially after the withdrawal and apology of the four DAP elected reps," Chai said.
He said this serves as proof on how DAP has betrayed and deceived the Chinese community.
Chai called on DAP to stop all actions that could result in a theocratic state and said the remaining 30 MPs, should defend the Federal Constitution together with MCA.
