31 houses damaged by storm in Yan, Kedah

ALOR STAR: Thirty houses in several villages in Yan, near here were severely damaged following a storm this afternoon.
The Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) officer for Yan district, Capt (PA) Norlizawati Ismail said the incident occurred about 5.15pm. destroying the structures of several houses while roofs had been blown away.
She said among the affected villages were Kampung Bukit Besar, Kampung Haji Hashim Gelam, Kampung Batu 11, Kampung Alor Pinggu, Kampung Haji Lateh and the Sungai Limau Dalam area.
"We received information about the incident at about 7.30pm and 15 personnel were rushed to the location to assist the victims and remove the uprooted trees," she said in a statement, here tonight.
So far, the number of victims affected was 186 although no report of injuries had been received. — Bernama
