PARIT: A male actor who got into hot soup following a video of him firing a shotgun without a licence in Kampung Parit Jerman, Sitiawan in 2016, has admitted his mistake.
Hairul Azreen, 30, said the incident served as a lesson for him and hoped that the public would not make the same mistake.
"Maybe it's a lesson for me ... I did not know that it would turn out this way. Maybe because I'm an actor and I wanted to feel what shooting is like. So, do not touch firearms at your whim and fancies.
"I will not repeat the mistake. The police will investigate further and if needs be, they will call me again," he told reporters after having his statement recorded at the Perak Tengah district police headquarters here today.
Hairul arrived there at 2 pm in a Toyota Alphard multi-purpose vehicle and testified for more than two hours.

The father of one said that the incident occurred when he dropped by at his uncle's house to go fishing.
The video, which went viral on YouTube over the past several days, was believed to have been recorded on July 26, 2016.
In a press conference earlier today, Perak Tengah district police chief Supt Mohamad Zainal Abdullah said initial investigations revealed that the actor's uncle, who is also the shotgun owner, possessed the licence since 30 years ago to shoot wild animals.
Police have also seized the SK 500 shotgun, 29 bullets and a licence book to facilitate investigations. — Bernama
