Anwar is de facto leader of PH, Dr M is coalition chairman

PETALING JAYA: Pakatan Harapan has decided to name Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as its de facto leader.
Meanwhile Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed has been elected as the coalition chairman.
Mahathir said Pakatan Harapan will also push the agenda of Anwar becoming the 8th Prime Minister should the opposition win the upcoming General Election.
"He (Anwar) will be freed by the efforts of the PM before, then we will apply for royal pardon. Then we will follow the laws," Mahathir said during a press conference after attending the Pakatan Harapan presidential council meeting held at PKR headquarters here.
Pakatan Harapan also announced PPBM's Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, DAP's Lim Guan Eng and Parti Amanah Negara's Mohamad Sabu deputy president's for the council.
Whereas the vice president's in the new council are PKR's Datuk Seri Mohamad Azmin Ali, PPBM's Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir, DAP's Chong Chieng Jen and Amanah's Sallahuddin Ayub.
PKR's Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah was named the chief secretary and DAP's Kulasegaran is the treasurer.
The Opposition coalition also announced the new logo that they will be contesting under if it gets approved by the authorities.
Mahathir said they will be registering the coalition soon with the Registrar of Societies (RoS) once the details of the leadership structure is finalised.
"We will register it as soon as possible, once we complete the details. We already have the structure. We will send it together with the logo," he said.
