City Hall enforcement officer hurt in brawl during stall inspection (VIDEO)

    KUALA LUMPUR: An enforcement officer from Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) was injured when a group of men assaulted him and his team members who were conducting routine checks at several drink stalls here.
    The incident, along Medan Bunus 6, Jalan Bunus occurred when the DBKL enforcement team were screening the licenses of drink stall operators about 12.36am today.
    Dang Wangi district police chief ACP Sukri Kaman said the 22-year-old victim and his team were issuing summonses to some of the stall owners.
    "The victim was suddenly approached by a group of men who attacked him. One of them even sprayed the victim with pepper spray," he said.
    The victim suffered several bruises to his body and was sent to Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL) for treatment.
    In a separate incident, about 1.40am, two siblings and their friends were assaulted by 10 men armed with parang at Jalan Masjid India.
    "Police were alerted about the incident about 3.40am and in the scuffle, one of the sibling, 22, was slashed.
    "The victim suffered slash wounds on his head and was admitted in HKL.
    Following these incidents, Sukri said police launched a joint operation code named "Ops Bersepadu Khas" with DBKL and The Civil Defence Department (JPAM).
    Police detained seven men in connection with both the incidents after screening 40 individuals.
    From the seven, he said two tested positive for drug abuse while another was on the police wanted list.
    During the operation by DBKL, officers sealed 28 stalls for various offences.
