Company employee charged with CBT involving RM10k

MALACCA: A company worker pleaded not guilty in the Ayer Keroh sessions court here today to criminal breach of trust (CBT) involving RM10,000 belonging to his employer.
Heng Kah Yong, 31, who was then an employee of ML Metal Trading Sdn Bhd entrusted with the RM10,000 fund, is alleged to have misappropriated the money for his personal use.
The offence was allegedly committed at the company's office at Jalan TTC 29, Taman Teknologi Cheng, here on Dec 24, 2016.
He was charged under Section 408 of the Penal Code and faced an imprisonment of up to 14 years and whipping and fine, if found guilty.
Judge Norma Ismail allowed Heng bail of RM15,000 in one surety and set Feb 7 for mention.
The prosecution was conducted by deputy public prosecutor N. Sivashangari, while Heng was represented by lawyer Sulaiman Harmain Shah. — Bernama
