KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested two individuals in connection to an arson attack on the home of a Royal Customs Department principal assistant director in Jalan P11/1, Presint 11 in Putrajaya last week.
City police chief Commissioner Datuk Mazlan Lazim said both suspects aged 48 and 49 were detained yesterday based on close-circuit television (CCTV) footage obtained from the scene.
"From the recording, they were seen riding a motorcycle and loitering around the location before stopping nearby where the incident took place," he said.
Mazlan said investigations showed both suspects were involved in a similiar arson attack against the same Customs official last year.
In the 3.30am incident, suspected arsonists torched four cars belonging to Nor Azman Mat Jini, 59, who is with the federal Customs GST enforcement division.
