DPM attends wedding of Dr Mashitah's daughter

BALING: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi today attended the wedding of former Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Dr Mashitah Ibrahim's daughter in Taman Insaniah, Kuala Ketil, near here.
Ahmad Zahid, who earlier launched the Baling Umno Division Delegates' Conference at the Youth Complex nearby, was welcomed on arrival by Mashitah, who is also Baling Umno Division Wanita chief, and her husband Datuk Abdul Shakor Abu Bakar.
Ahmad Zahid also performed the 'menepung tawar' (sprinkling scented water) on the bride and bridegroom, Fatin Sajeeda, 26, her partner, Khairul Asri Ishak, 26.
The couple's marriage solemnisation ceremony took place on July 7 in Gombak, Selangor.
Fatin Sajeeda, second of three siblings, and her husband, known each other through Facebook before realising that they studied in the same primary school when they were eight years old. Both now work as accountants in Kuala Lumpur.
Meanwhile, in his brief speech, the Umno vice-president hoped the residents in Baling parliamentary constituency and the three state constituencies, namely Kuala Ketil, Bayu and Kupang, would continue to support Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN).
"Regardless of who are being fielded to represent us in Kuala Ketil, Bayu and Kupang, don't change to other colour, stick to our colours (Umno/BN) to ensure continuous development in Baling," he added. — Bernama
